Each Field Coordinator for Explore Austin furthers the mission of the Explore Austin program through effective collaboration with the Program Manager on the coordination of Summer Wilderness Trip Launch and Receive days, Gear Checks and the preparation of Trip Packets. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
The essential functions for this job are below, but do not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. 

Field Coordinator - Program Admin Coordinator (May - July) 

  • Assemble Health Form Cover Sheets and transcription pages for Trip Packets

  • Google Calendar invites and facilitation of Conference Calls between Mentors & Trip Leaders

  • Preparation of Sign-in Sheets and Med Logs for each trip

  • Assist Program Manager with the assembly of Trip Packets


Field Coordinator - Launch / Receive Coordinator (June - July)

  • Project lead for the Launch and Receive of trips

  • Train and organize volunteers for Launch and Receive

  • Assists with gear turnover and Gear Checks, as needed

  • Responsible for coordinating airport shuttling for teams that fly 

  • Keeps track of covid testing and vaccination documentation


Field Coordinator - Gear Coordinator (June - July) 

  • Assists Launch / Receive Coordinator with Launch and Receive of trips

  • Assists Gear & Logistics Specialist with Gear Checks

  • Train and organize volunteers for Gear Checks

  • Prep gear before trips and flip gear after trips

  • Keeps track of covid testing and vaccination documentation

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work Thursday through Sunday
  • Proficient on Apple operating systems and Google Suite
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with close attention to detail
  • Preference for Bilingual ability, preferably Spanish/English speaker
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Passion, enthusiasm, focus, creativity, and a positive outlook 

Compensation: Hourly pay range is $16 to $19 per hour depending on experience and qualifications, around 15 - 20 hours per week
